What you will do
- Diagnose and resolve high-complexity interoperability issues involving HL7, FHIR, and API integrations.
- Perform advanced SQL Server performance tuning, indexing strategies, and deadlock analysis.
- Connect to client environments to troubleshoot database-related stability and functionality concerns.
- Write, debug, and optimize complex T-SQL scripts and stored procedures.
- Serve as the escalation point for critical database and system-level issues reported by hospitals.
- Mentor junior team members and maintain detailed documentation for knowledge management.
Requirements
- Must be based in Canada with availability in PST / MST time zones.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in SQL Server database administration or support.
- Deep familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards including HL7 and FHIR.
- Strong expertise in T-SQL, performance monitoring, and root cause diagnostics.
- Experience troubleshooting Windows Server and IIS environments.
- Excellent communication skills for daily interaction with hospital IT staff and vendors.
Nice to have
- Relevant Microsoft SQL Server or Windows Server certifications.
- Experience with healthcare integration engines like Rhapsody or Cloverleaf.
- Knowledge of networking, Active Directory, and secure transport protocols (SFTP/VPN).
