What you will do

• Design and deliver complex backend systems for secure and scalable payment processing.
• Take ownership of significant components within the Core Gateway platform to ensure long-term maintainability.
• Lead design reviews and articulate technical trade-offs to engineers and stakeholders.
• Drive improvements in observability, fault tolerance, and CI/CD pipeline automation.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing feedback and supporting technical growth.
• Ensure strict adherence to security and compliance standards, including PCI, OWASP, and SOC2.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of commercial software development experience.
• Advanced proficiency in C# (preferred) or PHP.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Proficiency with GCP, AWS, or similar cloud environments.
• Must be based in Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with logging systems like Logz.io.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as DataDog or NewRelic.
