Senior SRE (Storage Infrastructure): Building and optimizing performant, multi-tenant distributed storage services for Atlas with an accent on reliability, durability, and operational safety. Location: Must be based in the U.S. (Boston, New York City, Raleigh, Miami, Pittsburgh, or remote) and physically situated in an Eastern or Central time zone.
Salary: $127,000 – $249,000 USD

What you will do
- Partner with engineering teams to define SLOs and capacity plans for next-generation cloud storage services.
- Build for reliability, resilience, and self-healing within multi-tenant distributed storage systems.
- Automate infrastructure operations to avoid toil and enhance system agility.
- Configure key performance metrics to monitor and maintain service health.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support storage infrastructure.
- Optimize performance from the application level down to the kernel.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in software development and operating distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or a similar language.
- Strong experience with stateful storage or database systems at scale.
- Expertise in cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience using and extending Kubernetes for application agility.
- Solid understanding of Linux internals and networking concepts.

- Experience leading major architectural shifts and large-scale data migrations.
- Expertise in managing infrastructure across multi-cloud environments.
- Skills in designing secure, multi-tenant runtime environments at scale.
