Junior Engineer (Cybersecurity)

TL;DR

Junior Engineer (Cybersecurity): Supporting Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Identity Assurance (IDA) operations within the DISA J6 Pentagon environment with an accent on certificate lifecycle management and infrastructure maintenance. What you will do

• Support PKI certificate issuance and IDA operations following DISA J6 Pentagon and DoD/CNSS policies.
• Perform system administration for Registration Authority (RA) workstations, including log monitoring and backups.
• Assist with DCDC RA audits and maintain PKI-related policies and documentation.
• Monitor system health for issuing Certification Authorities and support Certificate Revocation List (CRL) publication.
• Provide technical support for PKI and IDA-related systems, troubleshooting certificate and authentication issues.
• Execute patching and configuration updates to ensure compliance with STIG and ACAS requirements.

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance required.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+).
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 0–3 years of experience in IT support, systems engineering, or PKI-related environments.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Alexandria, VA.

Nice to have

• Understanding of IAM and networking fundamentals.
• Familiarity with CAC/PIV cards and certificate-based authentication.
• Basic knowledge of STIG, RMF, or other cybersecurity compliance frameworks.
• Experience working within DoD or Federal IT environments.
