Support Engineer II (PostgreSQL)

What you will do

• Provide in-depth technical troubleshooting and solutions for hirify.global product lines and open-source PostgreSQL.
• Mentor junior and mid-tier support engineers to triage complex issues.
• Create reproducible test cases, file development requests, and develop patches.
• Collaborate with core PostgreSQL community contributors to identify bugs and performance bottlenecks.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for premium customers on priority engagements.
• Document technical solutions, procedures, and standards for internal and external use.

Requirements

• 5+ years of significant experience with PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, or equivalent database knowledge.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL third-party tools (e.g., pgpool, patroni, pgbouncer).
• Outstanding English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Must be based in the EMEA region.

Nice to have

• Experience with machine learning and AI.
• Working experience with Microsoft.NET, Java and/or C/C++.
• Experience with Docker, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (RDS) and Microsoft Azure.
• Previous technical support experience.
