What you will do

• Analyze existing Java EE components and document business logic.
• Design clean, testable Spring Boot services and data access interfaces.
• Plan and execute the data model transformation from MySQL to MongoDB.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests prior to implementation.
• Execute incremental migrations with parallel validation to ensure stability.
• Ensure performance parity between the new services and the legacy application.

Requirements

• Strong experience building enterprise applications, REST APIs, and data access layers with Spring Boot and Spring Data.
• Ability to analyze and deconstruct legacy Jakarta EE/Java EE components (EJBs, JPA, CDI).
• Deep understanding of relational data models and MySQL query optimization.
• Experience with NoSQL patterns, document modeling, and Spring Data MongoDB.
• Proven track record of writing test suites using JUnit, Mockito, and Testcontainers.
• Must be based in Bulgaria

Nice to have

• Python for scripting, automation, and migration tooling.
• Experience leveraging LLM/AI tools for code analysis, conversion assistance, and documentation.
• Understanding of event-driven architectures using Kafka.
• Familiarity with containerized deployments via Docker and Kubernetes.
