What you will do

• Design and develop high-performance Java applications for real-time data processing of market data, pricing, and orders.
• Implement multithreading and concurrency patterns adapted to performance-critical systems.
• Continuously optimize system latency, throughput, memory usage, and Garbage Collection behavior.
• Participate in the full software lifecycle, including design, technical specifications, testing, and release.
• Provide 3rd line production support and manage occasional out-of-hours interventions.
• Collaborate closely with quantitative, trading, and infrastructure teams.

Requirements

• Expert-level Java experience in performance-critical environments.
• Proven background in building low-latency or high-throughput systems.
• Solid understanding of concurrency, threading, and memory management.
• Prior experience working in Front Office, Trading, or Risk IT environments.
• Comfortable working within Linux production environments.
• Must possess valid UK work authorization (visa sponsorship is not provided).

Nice to have

• Exposure to Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities, FX, or Derivatives asset classes.
• Experience with messaging middleware such as Kafka or Solace.
• Knowledge of FIX or other market connectivity protocols.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP and multicast.
