What you will do

• Design and develop internal platform capabilities using Terraform and automation scripts to enable self-service data resource management.
• Codify database best practices for indexing, schema design, and security into automation to "shift left" expertise.
• Build automated observability systems with preconfigured dashboards, SLIs/SLOs, and alerts in Datadog.
• Implement policy-as-code guardrails using OPA or Terraform Sentinel to prevent dangerous production operations.
• Architect and maintain core data infrastructure including AWS RDS (Postgres, MySQL), OpenSearch, ElastiCache, and DynamoDB.
• Act as a consultant to engineering teams to foster a culture of database literacy.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Database Engineering and Infrastructure focusing on distributed data stores.
• Advanced proficiency with AWS and Terraform.
• Strong scripting and coding skills in Python, Go, or Bash.
• Experience with GitLab CI and Kubernetes.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid setup from the London office.
