What you will do
- Develop generative AI models (VAEs, diffusion, or RL) for nanoparticle formulation design targeting specific therapeutic outcomes.
- Integrate counterfactual explanation methods to make AI-driven design decisions transparent and trustworthy.
- Co-supervise doctoral candidates focusing on database curation and transport modelling.
- Collaborate with international experimental partners within the NAP4DIVE consortium.
- Contribute to high-impact scientific publications.
Requirements
- PhD in Machine Learning, AI, Computational Chemistry, Computational Materials Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in generative models for molecular/materials design with at least one first-author publication.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python, specifically with PyTorch or JAX.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to formulate research questions and drive projects to publication independently.
Nice to have
- Experience with drug delivery, nanomedicine, or pharmaceutical formulation.
- Familiarity with explainable AI (XAI) or counterfactual explanation methods.
- Experience with Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) or molecular dynamics data.
- Track record of interdisciplinary collaboration.
