Salary: $218,025 — $256,500 USD

What you will do

• Own the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for Payment Rails, designing APIs and orchestration layers.
• Build and scale complex distributed systems processing high-volume payment traffic with strong observability and SLOs.
• Drive an AI-first approach to engineering workflows to accelerate development and improve code quality.
• Partner with Product, Risk, and Compliance to translate business requirements into secure technical solutions.
• Lead high-stakes scaling initiatives to proactively eliminate bottlenecks in money movement.
• Mentor engineers and establish design patterns to elevate technical quality across the organization.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Proven track record of building payment systems, financial infrastructure, or high-volume transactional systems.
• Experience architecting fault-tolerant distributed systems that handle billions of dollars in transaction volume.
• Ability to transition fragmented services into coherent, reusable multi-tenant platforms.
• Strong operational excellence in production reliability and high-severity incident response.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate generative AI tools and copilots into daily engineering workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with payment processors or gateways such as Stripe, Plaid, SWIFT, ACH, or SEPA.
• Background in crypto, blockchain, stablecoin transfers, or on-chain settlements.
• Experience working in highly regulated fintech or financial services industries.
