What you will do

• Design and maintain measurement frameworks for payment success rates, failure root causes, and settlement timing.
• Collaborate with backend engineering teams to translate infrastructure constraints into experiments and influence roadmap prioritization.
• Design and analyze A/B tests and quasi-experiments across payment flows, including retry logic and routing decisions.
• Develop and deploy predictive models for payment failure prediction and risk scoring at transaction scale.
• Build AI-native data products and automated workflows with necessary guardrails for a regulated financial context.
• Translate complex statistical results into actionable narratives for executive leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Data Science at a product-focused software company.
• Deep domain knowledge of payments infrastructure (ACH, card networks, bank integrations, settlement flows).
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for querying large-scale transactional datasets.
• Proven expertise in experimentation and causal inference within challenging payment contexts.
• Experience building data products where AI is a core component, not just a tool for efficiency.
• Track record of influencing backend engineers and technical stakeholders.
