Staff Workday Engineer (Fintech): Designing, configuring, and optimizing enterprise Workday solutions across HCM, Compensation, Payroll, and Benefits with an accent on architectural leadership and system scalability. Location: Must be based in the Menlo Park, CA area, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.
Salary: $146,000–$220,000 USD (Base pay varies by compensation zone).

What you will do
- Drive the end-to-end design, configuration, and continuous improvement of core Workday modules.
- Architect, build, and optimize scalable integrations, custom reports, and advanced security models.
- Partner with People Operations, Payroll, and Finance teams to deliver system enhancements and automate processes.
- Support internationalization efforts and mergers and acquisitions by leading data migration and onboarding workflows.
- Develop and implement AI-enabled solutions within HR systems to boost operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Workday (HCM, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits).
- Proven track record in architectural and design leadership within Workday ecosystems.
- Proficiency in Workday Studio, custom integration patterns (SOAP/REST/WQL), and security models.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical configurations.
- Must be able to work from the Menlo Park, CA office at least 3 days per week.
Nice to have
- Experience with Workday Extend, Orchestrations, and Prism.
- Hands-on experience using modern AI tools to accelerate engineering workflows.
- Track record of building AI-enabled automations.
