What you will do

• Design, build, and operate scalable back-end services that power real-time AI chat experiences.
• Take end-to-end ownership of mission-critical infrastructure from ideation to production.
• Push boundaries of applied AI by implementing innovative agent workflows and system behaviors.
• Influence engineering standards, architecture, and processes as the platform scales.
• Mentor fellow engineers to maintain high standards for performance, security, and code quality.
• Collaborate across product and design teams to align technical direction with business outcomes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering within fast-paced environments.
• Strong background in designing, building, and maintaining production back-end systems.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration inherent in high-growth startup settings.
• Proven ability to take full ownership of projects and deliver impactful results.
• Deep interest in AI and experience building innovative products.
• Must be based in Sydney, Australia to attend office 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience building systems for enterprise or high-scale users.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, agent workflows, or AI infrastructure.
