What you will do

• Lead the technical strategy and execution for core member-facing surfaces including onboarding, navigation, and support flows.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Applied AI teams to translate behavioral science into scalable, maintainable mobile and web systems.
• Define and track OKRs focused on engagement, retention, performance, and reliability.
• Grow and mentor engineering managers and Staff+ engineers to foster a high-performance, inclusive team culture.
• Drive operational excellence and a healthy 24/7 on-call reliability culture within the member experience domain.
• Balance new product velocity with long-term system health, architectural resilience, and technical debt reduction.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in engineering leadership, including 5+ years managing managers.
• Proven experience leading multiple teams delivering large-scale consumer-facing web and mobile products.
• Strong expertise in defining success metrics and driving data-driven planning in an Agile environment.
• Deep understanding of mobile (iOS/Android) and web development trade-offs and architectural patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Product and Design leadership to deliver complex roadmap commitments.
• Experience operating within regulated environments (healthcare, fintech, or similar) prioritizing security and trust.

Nice to have

• Background in high-engagement consumer apps (DTC, marketplaces, social, wellness).
• Experience driving large-scale system modernization or re-architecture efforts.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and service-oriented systems.
• Hands-on technical background in the existing stack: Ruby/Rails, Python, React, Swift, Kotlin.
