What you will do

• Act as Lead Designer for assigned buyer-facing product areas and set quality standards.
• Translate ambiguous business and user problems into clear experience strategies and high-quality UI.
• Collaborate with PM, Engineering, and UXR teams to influence product roadmaps.
• Identify and propose new design concepts and improvements beyond initial scope.
• Contribute to and evolve shared design systems and patterns.
• Provide mentorship and design feedback to team members.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in product, UX, or interaction design.
• English proficiency: C1 required.
• Proven ability to lead design for complex, ambiguous problem spaces.
• Experience designing for marketplace, e-commerce, or transaction-based products.
• Deep understanding of design systems and scalable patterns.
• Must be able to work onsite in Roppongi, Japan.

Nice to have

• Conversational Japanese proficiency (B2).
• Experience acting as a lead designer across multiple teams.
• Familiarity with user research methods and data-driven design decisions.
