What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of machine learning scientists, fostering innovation and scientific rigor.
• Define the team's strategic roadmap, aligning ML products and features with business objectives in the online travel space.
• Partner with product, engineering, and business executives to influence strategy and communicate complex technical concepts.
• Oversee the design and deployment of real-time decisioning systems to prevent fraudulent attacks and protect traveler data.
• Champion software engineering best practices and raise the quality bar across the ML product portfolio.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• PhD or MS in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or Physics.
• 5+ years of industry experience applying machine learning to real-world problems.
• 2+ years of direct people management experience in a technical team.
• Deep expertise in machine learning theory, including supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms.
• Hands-on proficiency in Python, its data science ecosystem, and SQL.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying GenAI or LLM technologies in production environments.
• Domain knowledge in fraud, e-commerce, or operational ML applications.
• Knowledge of multi-agent architectures and AI evaluation techniques.
