Forward Deployed Engineering Manager (AI): Leading a team of engineers to deliver cutting-edge AI agents for enterprise customers with an accent on deployment strategy, customer outcomes, and technical excellence. Focus on building and scaling the forward-deployed engineering function, bridging the gap between product innovation and real-world business impact, and managing cross-functional collaborations.

Location: Must be based in the United States (Remote)

Salary: $205,000–$280,000 + Annual Bonus & Equity

What you will do

Recruit, mentor, and scale a diverse team of Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs).
Define the FDE career ladder, team culture, and operational processes.
Partner with Product and Engineering to translate customer feedback into roadmap priorities.
Design deployment frameworks that balance speed, quality, and scalability.
Drive customer success by ensuring AI agents deliver measurable business outcomes.
Stay hands-on with complex deployments and contribute to codebase and architecture when needed.

Requirements

Must be based in the United States
At least 2 years of engineering management experience.
Background in customer-facing engineering roles like Forward Deployed, Solutions, or Implementation Engineering.
Strong software engineering fundamentals (coding, system design, APIs, databases).
Hands-on experience with AI agents, LLMs, prompt engineering, or ML production deployments.
Experience in high-growth startup or scale-up environments.
10-25% travel expected for customer visits and company events.
