Fullstack Engineer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Fullstack Engineer (Fintech): Building and maintaining shared platform components, backend modules, and SDKs for a digital lending platform with an accent on architectural standards and developer experience. Location: Must be based in or able to work from the Cardiff office (Hybrid)

Salary: up to £50,000 + 20% annual bonus

What you will do

• Own and evolve the shared component library and backend architecture.
• Build and maintain shared backend modules, SDKs, and platform-level services.
• Improve backend build pipelines, tooling, and general developer experience.
• Support various Product Teams through rotations, reviews, and direct collaboration.
• Drive continuous improvements to engineering practices across the organization.
• Shape the implementation of AI and agentic development within the tech stack.

Requirements

• Experience developing REST APIs with Java 8+ and Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in SQL databases, specifically Postgres or Oracle.
• Experience building frontend applications with React and TypeScript.
• Experience with Docker and CI tools like Jenkins.
• Solid understanding of version control with Git and automated testing methodologies.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity in Cardiff, UK.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Knowledge of Temporal for workflow orchestration.
• Background in financial services or regulated industries.
• Enthusiasm for AI-assisted or agentic development patterns.
• Experience with end-to-end testing tools like Playwright or Selenium.
