Senior Data Engineer (Data Platform): Building and optimizing data pipelines and data models to power analytics, machine learning, and real-time products with an accent on scalability, SQL transformation, and infrastructure automation using Terraform and Airflow. Focus on leading technical initiatives, mentoring team members, and ensuring high-quality data lake accessibility across the organization.

Location: Must be based in the UK (Hybrid role, minimum 60% office attendance in London)

Salary: £80K – £88K

What you will do

• Build and maintain robust data pipelines using Spark, DBT, and Airflow.
• Design and implement scalable data models to empower stakeholders with accessible, insightful data.
• Lead key technical initiatives and architectural projects within the data team.
• Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform and secure data assets within AWS environments.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor mid-level and junior engineers to foster team growth.
• Collaborate within Agile squads to deliver high-impact data products and analytics solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer using SQL and Python.
• Strong background in data modeling and creating effective data architecture diagrams.
• Significant experience with cloud data lakes, specifically AWS (Glue, Athena).
• Hands-on experience with DBT and Apache Airflow.
• Experience leading initiatives or mentoring team members.
• Must be able to work in the London office at least 60% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience with Iceberg and modern data transformation techniques.
• Familiarity with Jenkins and GitHub Actions for CI/CD processes.
• Background in cross-functional collaboration within SCRUM teams.
