Senior Scala Developer
SNI is serving as a trusted IT Outsourcing partner in line with the needs of World's most prestigious firms and carried out successful projects worldwide.
For one of our European clients, we are currently looking for a Scala Developer.
Details:
- Start date: ASAP
- Duration: 6 months with extension
- Work model: Fully remote from Slovakia or Czech Republic
Scope:
- Implementation and automation of internal systems

- Handling service-related activities:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining backend services in Scala
- Improving system scalability, performance, and reliability
- Working within distributed systems environment
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Supporting CI/CD processes and production deployments
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Scala
- Experience with Play Framework (Pekko-based)
- Solid understanding of SQL (optimization, indexing, query profiling)
- Experience with MySQL and Redis

- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Git and PR-based workflows
- 4+ years of professional experience (Senior level)
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Squeryl or Doobie
- Familiarity with Grafana and/or Kibana (monitoring, alerting)
- Experience with distributed systems and horizontal scaling
- Experience working with Play / Pekko ecosystem
