What you will do

• Design and scale core features for the pipeline platform.
• Maintain and optimize the Ruby on Rails monolith and PostgreSQL databases.
• Investigate and resolve performance issues in production environments.
• Perform code reviews and provide technical feedback on GitHub.
• Collaborate on schema changes, migrations, and deployment strategies.
• Influence architectural decisions and overall technical direction.

Requirements

• Must be located in Australia or New Zealand
• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Deep expertise in Ruby on Rails application development
• Experience with performance tuning and database indexing strategies
• Proficiency with observability tools like Datadog or Honeycomb
• Strong understanding of testing practices, specifically RSpec

Nice to have

• Experience with GraphQL and React
• Knowledge of Golang and Kafka
• Familiarity with infrastructure tools like Terraform and Amazon ECS
