What you will do

• Enhance and maintain the existing Perl-based network automation systems and internal toolset.
• Build and maintain secure, scalable RESTful APIs with proper instrumentation and versioning.
• Identify and reduce technical debt while improving platform performance and reliability.
• Contribute to the release process through rigorous code reviews and CI/CD pipeline improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers through pairing, code reviews, and promoting sound design principles.

Requirements

• Must be based in Australia
• 5+ years of software development experience using Perl and Mojolicious.
• Proven experience building backend services and tools within web application ecosystems.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and distributed datastores (Cassandra).
• Strong understanding of networking concepts including IP routing and MPLS.
• Ability to act as a technical lead for small projects and provide architectural guidance.
