What you will do

• Design and execute test plans with a primary focus on backend data accuracy and business logic.
• Perform complex database testing using advanced SQL queries, joins, and aggregations.
• Validate REST API requests and responses including error handling and edge cases.
• Test microservices architecture by validating data flow, queue messages, and payloads in GCP.
• Document and track backend logic defects while collaborating closely with development teams.
• Identify data-related risks through proactive requirements analysis and stakeholder communication.

Requirements

• Must be able to work onsite in Arlington, VA
• 5+ years of experience in manual backend and data validation testing
• Advanced proficiency in SQL (complex joins, subqueries, aggregations)
• Hands-on experience with REST API testing, JSON, and Postman
• Proven understanding of microservices architecture and backend integration
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Nice to have

• Experience with FHIR or HL7 healthcare standards
• Ability to analyze complex XML data structures
• Background in establishing or improving QA processes within backend-heavy environments
