What you will do

• Write production code and build features for 50% of your time while leading a team of 2 engineers.
• Design scalable solutions and conduct rigorous code reviews using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Manage cloud infrastructure on GCP, ensuring system reliability, CI/CD excellence, and observability.
• Lead the adoption of AI-augmented development practices, including integrating tools like Claude Code into the team workflow.
• Plan sprints, establish engineering standards, and support team growth through mentorship and 1:1s.
• Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to deliver seamless e-commerce experiences via Shopify APIs.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years in engineering leadership roles (Team Lead, Tech Lead, or EM).
• Strong expertise in TypeScript, React, Node.js, and modern REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure management.
• Practical experience with AI-augmented coding workflows (e.g., Claude Code, agentic coding).
• Ability to work in a hybrid model (2 days/week in Berlin).

Nice to have

• Experience with Shopify Hydrogen, Remix, or headless commerce integrations.
• Background in subscription/recurring billing systems.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Kubernetes, and E2E testing tools like Playwright or Cypress.
