What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a geographically distributed engineering team.
• Define and refine the engineering roadmap and technology strategy to ensure operational excellence.
• Partner with Product Managers to align engineering capacity with business objectives and product vision.
• Take ownership of the quality, timeliness, and impact of the team's software delivery.
• Drive recruitment, performance management, and professional development for engineers.
• Foster a high-performance culture that prioritizes code quality, test infrastructure, and scalability.

Requirements

• Must be based in Portugal or the United States.
• Demonstrated experience in managing, mentoring, and scaling distributed engineering teams.
• Strong background in building complex, high-performance distributed applications.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and solve challenging architectural problems.
• Commitment to code quality, automated testing, and end-user business value.
• Solid grasp of computer science fundamentals including concurrency, algorithms, and data structures.

Nice to have

• Professional experience with Go, Rust, TypeScript, or Solidity.
• Background in financial services or regulatory compliance controls.
