About the Role

You will build and own the accounting function from the ground up. You will manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close. You will prepare monthly financial statements and reports, coordinate with external accounting firms and auditors, and establish accounting policies and internal controls. You will handle sales tax compliance and multi-jurisdictional reporting, support financial planning and budgeting, and collaborate with engineering, product, and operations to ensure billing accuracy, revenue recognition, and payment flows between customers and suppliers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of accounting experience with full-cycle accounting including AP AR general ledger and month-end close
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting Finance or related field; CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
• Deep understanding of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting standards
• Experience with QuickBooks and implementing AI accounting systems
• Strong Excel skills and financial modeling experience
• Detail-oriented with accuracy in data entry reconciliations and financial reporting
• Self-starter with ability to build processes and systems from scratch in a fast-paced startup environment
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
• Comfortable working with external partners such as auditors tax advisors and banking partners

• Perform month-end close and prepare monthly financial statements and reports

• Establish and document accounting policies and internal controls
• Handle sales tax compliance and reporting across multiple jurisdictions
• Support financial planning and budgeting processes
• Collaborate with engineering product and operations to ensure billing accuracy revenue recognition and financial data integrity
• Manage payments between customers and suppliers at scale
