What you will do

• Develop and maintain Python-based backend services and APIs for SDA applications.
• Modernize legacy software workflows into modular, maintainable components.
• Collaborate with algorithm engineers to design clean interfaces for computational capabilities.
• Review code and provide technical feedback to ensure adherence to architectural standards.
• Implement automated testing, debugging, and performance validation efforts.
• Document software designs and interfaces to support team collaboration.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• US Citizenship required.
• Eligibility to obtain a US Government security clearance.
• Strong proficiency in Python for backend development.
• Experience writing maintainable, testable code and performing code reviews.
• Familiarity with Git-based development workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with RESTful APIs or service-oriented architectures.
• Experience integrating computational algorithms into software systems.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in aerospace, space operations, or defense programs.
