Development Director (GameDev)

TL;DR

Development Director (GameDev): Managing project schedules and facilitating the development team's progression through project phases with an accent on collaboration and communication within the team and with partner teams. Focus on ensuring quality, managing budgets, and implementing process improvements across the studio.

Location: This role is a full-time, on-site position based 5 days a week at our Downtown Vancouver studio.

Salary: $88,000 - $110,000 a year

What you will do

• Partner with senior production team members to drive planning and execution for a live game.
• Manage and cultivate project teams, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to plan schedules and resource requirements based on project goals.
• Monitor project progress within assigned budgets and manage changes that impact the project schedule and resources.
• Ensure the team is trained on necessary skills, processes, and best practices.
• Track and manage scope in alignment with capacity, identifying and mitigating risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or certification in project management, with a focus on Agile methodologies.
• 7+ years of project management experience in the entertainment and/or software development industry.
• 3+ years in a leadership role with strong people management skills.
• Experience setting up and running project management tools such as JIRA.
• Deep understanding of games as a service business model.
• Effective communication skills with the proven ability to influence outcomes across all levels of the organization.
