TL;DR

What you will do
- Lead the design and development of scalable full-stack applications using Next.js, React, Node.js, and MySQL.
- Drive architecture discussions to ensure system modularity, performance, and scalability.
- Own the end-to-end implementation process from initial planning to CI/CD deployment on AWS.
- Improve performance metrics including TTFB, LCP, and database query optimization.
- Collaborate with design, product, and DevOps teams to deliver user-centric experiences.
- Mentor team members, advocate for high code quality, and leverage AI tools to increase engineering productivity.
Requirements
- Location: Must be based in Portugal.
- 4–7 years of professional experience in full-stack web development in a senior or lead capacity.
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), React, Next.js, and Node.js.
- Strong experience with relational databases, specifically MySQL schema design and tuning.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Jenkins CI/CD, and AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS).
- Deep understanding of REST APIs, microservices communication, and error handling.
Nice to have
- Experience with BigQuery and GA4 for data analytics and performance tracking.
- Background in managing multi-region websites and internationalization strategies.
- Knowledge of system reliability practices and observability tools like New Relic or ELK.
- Experience with API documentation tools such as Swagger or Postman.
