Salary: $220,000 – $405,000

What you will do

• Design and maintain billing API abstractions that enable product teams to ship new SKUs and pricing models.
• Build and operate subscription and usage-based billing systems serving millions of users.
• Establish tiered reliability standards, proactive monitoring, and alerting for revenue-critical infrastructure.
• Partner with Finance and Growth teams to ensure billing data is accurate, auditable, and compliant.
• Optimize global payment conversion rates and expand payment method coverage.
• Build internal tooling for Support and Finance teams to diagnose and resolve billing issues.

Requirements

• 4+ years of industry experience in software engineering
• Direct experience building or scaling billing, payments, or subscription systems
• Deep familiarity with payment processors like Stripe
• Strong backend engineering skills in Python with ability to reason about complex distributed systems
• Experience working with relational databases like PostgreSQL
• Track record of cross-functional collaboration

Nice to have

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Stripe APIs and SDKs
• Experience with usage-based or metered billing models
• Experience with Apple and Google Play in-app purchase billing
• Familiarity with growth experimentation and PLG monetization
• Full-stack experience with Next.js/React/TypeScript
