IRIS2 Configuration & Data Management Support

TL;DR

IRIS2 Configuration & Data Management Support (Project Management): Supporting ESA's Directorate of Connectivity and Secure Communications (CSC) with configuration and data management for the IRIS² and EuroQCI programmes with an accent on maintaining traceability of configuration items and coordinating change control processes. Focus on ensuring alignment with programme configuration, supporting data pack preparation, and contributing to audits and inspections.

Location: Onsite in Noordwijk, Netherlands. Must be eligible to live and work in the EU. Must be eligible for Personal Security Clearance (PSC) to ESA SECRET/EU SECRET level.

What you will do

• Act as the operational liaison between the service team, project control, the European Commission, and industrial partners.
• Manage configuration and data for project teams and maintain full traceability of configuration items.
• Coordinate all change control processes, including CPs, CRs, RFDs, and RFWs.
• Develop and maintain CADM plans, procedures, and configuration guidelines.
• Organise all Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities, including agenda preparation, input/output documentation, minutes of meeting, and action tracking.
• Contribute to audits and inspections through accurate configuration and data documentation.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Information Management, or a related Technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience in configuration management, data/document control, or CADM in aerospace, defence, or a regulated technical environment.
• Hands-on experience with configuration or PLM tools (e.g., EDMS, Windchill, Teamcenter, JIRA, or similar).
• Strong understanding of CM processes, baselines, product structures, and change control.
• Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU.
• Candidates must be eligible for Personal Security Clearance (PSC) to ESA SECRET/EU SECRET level.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated engineering environment.
• Knowledge of ECSS standards, particularly ECSSMST40 (Configuration Management).
• Prior experience with ESA programmes or EU funded secure communication initiatives or knowledge of IRIS² programme context, secure connectivity architectures, or satellite telecom environments.
