Senior Product Manager - Travel Development Department (TDD) (Traveltech/Ecommerce): Creating and growing travel products and services across hotels, rental cars, buses, activities, and package tours with an accent on product vision, globalization, localization, and customer experience. Focus on defining product strategy from user and market data, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, launching services, and leading product teams across Rakuten Group.

Travel is an online travel service in Japan focused on developing travel reservation products and expanding into global markets.
What you will do
- Lead discussions on marketing, sales promotion, globalization, localization, content management, and customer relationship management with stakeholders.
- Improve the quality and customer satisfaction of Travel products and services in collaboration with marketing, sales, customer support, and development teams.
- Design and implement travel services covering hotels, rental cars, buses, activities, and package tours.
- Create product vision, strategy, and tactics based on user behavior, customer feedback, NPS, competitor research, and market analysis.
- Present products to internal and external stakeholders and at sales conferences across the US, China, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, and other APAC markets.
- Recruit and train junior and middle-level product managers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of product management or program management experience.
- Experience with product ideation, requirements definition, documentation, service launches, or service growth as a lead product manager or product owner.
- Experience managing products for e-commerce or similar services, including KPI formulation and executive reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across business and technology functions and influence stakeholders without formal authority.
- English: TOEIC score above 800 and ability to deliver presentations in English.
- Japanese: Fluent; comfortable working in a Japanese-speaking environment.
Nice to have
- MBA or another advanced degree.
- Foundational engineering knowledge or professional software development experience.
- Product management experience in the travel or hotel industry.
