What you will do

• Define and drive the lighting vision for levels and cinematics while maintaining technical performance budgets.
• Provide consistent direction, feedback, and mentorship to the lighting team to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Collaborate with graphics, engine, and tools teams to design and implement efficient lighting pipelines.
• Work iteratively with the Art Director and other leads to align on visual goals and production standards.
• Act as a key technical point of contact for lighting-related creative and technical problem-solving.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks early in the development cycle to ensure smooth production.

Requirements

• Based in or able to work from Guildford, UK (Hybrid role).
• Proven experience shipping AAA titles on current-generation consoles.
• Strong expertise in lighting, shading, and PBR for real-time applications (UE4/5, Frostbite, or Unity).
• Proven ability to lead or mentor small teams, or a strong appetite to step into a leadership role.
• Advanced knowledge of HDRI capture, calibration workflows, and skydome authoring.
• Solid understanding of color grading approaches and visual composition.
