What you will do

• Design and implement Kong API Gateway solutions within AKS, EKS, and OpenShift clusters.
• Manage the lifecycle of gateway components, including controllers and plugins.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation scripts and CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor API traffic, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and ensure high availability.
• Collaborate with Security and Application teams to define API standards, governance, and security policies.
• Document architecture, configurations, and operational procedures for enterprise-scale integration.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in the Netherlands with legal right to work in the Netherlands
• 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or Platform Engineer role.
• Proven experience with Kubernetes and container deployment platforms like OpenShift.
• Proficiency in scripting and IaC tools including Bash, Python, and Terraform.
• Familiarity with API security best practices such as OAuth2, mTLS, and JWT.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in complex containerized environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kong API Gateway.
• Knowledge of financial services technology landscapes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
• Understanding of legacy system modernization approaches.
