Test Engineer

TL;DR

Test Engineer (QA Testing): Validating data processing, transformation, and integration workflows across system boundaries within the CROWN program with an accent on correctness, reliability, and traceability of mission-critical data pipelines. Focus on functional and integration testing, validation of structured data transformations, and development of automated test capabilities.

Location: Hybrid in Colorado Springs, CO. Remote work may be considered for highly qualified candidates based on program needs.

Salary: $95,000 to $125,000

What you will do

• Develop, document, and execute test plans, test cases, and procedures based on system and software requirements.
• Validate data transformation, parsing, and integration workflows across system boundaries.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing across development and integration environments.
• Identify, document, and track defects; collaborate with developers to support timely resolution.
• Develop and maintain automated tests to improve coverage, repeatability, and testing efficiency.
• Generate test reports and communicate results to technical and program stakeholders.

Requirements

• US Citizenship required
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or related technical role.
• Experience developing and executing test plans and test cases.
• Basic proficiency in a scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Java, or similar).

Nice to have

• Experience supporting DoD or other government software programs.
• Experience testing data processing or integration-heavy systems.
• Experience with structured data validation (e.g., JSON, XML, XSD, DFDL, or similar).
• Experience developing automated tests using frameworks such as pytest, JUnit, or similar.
• Current DoD Security Clearance
