Salary: $233,000 - $274,000 USD (San Francisco, CA)

What you will do

• Lead and grow the Verifications engineering team, setting technical direction and driving performance and career development.
• Own the reliability and quality of fulfillment integrations, partnering with vendors and internal stakeholders to reduce friction and improve turnaround times.
• Partner with Product to define and execute the roadmap across employment, education, drug and health, and compliance products.
• Drive technical strategy for scaling a complex, integration-heavy system, making architecture decisions that improve coverage and reduce manual exceptions.
• Lead the team's adoption of AI-assisted development practices, helping engineers move faster while maintaining quality and accuracy standards.
• Represent Verifications in cross-functional planning, serving as the engineering voice on team capacity and roadmap sequencing.

Requirements

• 4+ years as an engineering manager with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
• 8+ years as a software engineer with strong command of service architecture, distributed systems, and system design.
• Experience managing complex third-party integration environments and owning reliability across systems you don’t fully control.
• A track record of improving operational metrics and shipping reliability improvements in high-stakes production environments.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and agentic coding tools.
• Experience working on regulated products where data accuracy and legal compliance are non-negotiable.
