What you will do

• Take end-to-end ownership of a core product domain, including architecture, implementation, and system reliability.
• Define and implement technical direction, architectural standards, and engineering best practices.
• Manage and mentor a small, growing team of engineers while maintaining high individual contribution through code.
• Ensure rapid shipping velocity while keeping the team focused on high-impact objectives.
• Partner cross-functionally with product, research, and clinical teams to translate healthcare needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Scale the engineering team by hiring 3–5 engineers within the first 12 months.

Requirements

• Proven track record building and shipping real products as a founder, founding engineer, or early employee.
• Deep experience owning and maintaining backend systems under production load.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in guiding teams and fostering technical growth.
• High clarity in technical communication, including architecture documentation and code reviews.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous early-stage environments.
• Must have US work authorization as implied by the company's US-based operations and compensation structure.

Nice to have

• Experience in AI SaaS or as a former founder.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, ASR, or real-time audio/NLP pipelines.
• Background building at the infrastructure-product boundary.
