What you will do

• Own the software foundation and lifecycle for a growing fleet of production-connected devices.
• Build and maintain systems for provisioning, updating, and monitoring device software.
• Lead and mentor a small team of 1-2 engineers while remaining highly hands-on with technical execution.
• Partner with hardware, firmware, cloud, and security teams to standardize tooling and release processes.
• Improve system observability, reliability, and incident response across device and infrastructure layers.
• Leverage AI tools and automation to accelerate development cycles and system integrations.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US or Canada.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience shipping production systems end-to-end.
• Hands-on experience with Linux-based systems and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation.
• Proven ability to support systems at scale and proficiency in Python or TypeScript.
• Active use of AI coding tools as a core part of the development workflow.

• Prior management experience.
• Experience in a startup environment (Series C/D).
