Working Student (m/f/d) Applied AI Engineering & Prototyping (AI)

What you will do

• Build and iterate on AI prototypes, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept applications.
• Experiment with LLM applications, agentic workflows, prompt strategies, and orchestration patterns.
• Connect prototypes to APIs, data sources, and enterprise systems.
• Support lightweight frontend and application prototypes that make concepts tangible and testable.
• Run structured evaluations and benchmarks for models, tools, and technical approaches.
• Prepare data, design prompts and workflows, and document architectures, findings, and implementation trade-offs.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in Computer Science, Data Science, AI Engineering, Software Engineering, Business Informatics, or a related university program.
• First hands-on programming experience with Python and Git-based development workflows.
• Curiosity about LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic systems, tool use, and applied prototyping.
• First experience with LLM APIs, orchestration frameworks, RAG with vector stores, or evaluation tooling.
• Ability to work in a structured way, communicate technical findings clearly, and iterate through ambiguity.
• Fluent English required; German is a plus.
