What you will do

• Define and lead the long-term technical architecture for core services and retail management systems.
• Drive strategic initiatives to optimize the performance, scalability, and stability of distributed services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into maintainable technical roadmaps.
• Establish domain-wide operational excellence, including observability, monitoring, and robust on-call practices.
• Mentor senior and associate engineers to elevate code quality and engineering fundamentals across the organization.
• Architect services with a security-first mindset, ensuring data protection and high-quality technical documentation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software development experience in large-scale distributed cloud environments.
• Deep expertise in Golang or similar systems programming languages.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, advanced caching, and message brokers like Kafka.
• Proven ability to solve complex bottlenecks in high-volume, highly distributed architectures.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Must reside near Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis for hybrid work.
