Senior Data Scientist (AI): Developing and optimizing advanced LLMs and agentic workflows to improve global search query understanding with an accent on fine-tuning, PEFT, and autonomous planning. Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to Berlin, Germany (Hybrid: 2 days/week in office).

What you will do

• Research and optimize advanced LLMs, focusing on fine-tuning and Agentic AI for query understanding.
• Design and implement autonomous agent patterns like ReAct and Chain-of-Thought for complex search problems.
• Lead the model lifecycle from ideation and training using PEFT/LoRA to production deployment.
• Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights and influence global product strategy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and data to deliver scalable solutions.
• Mentor colleagues and advocate for best practices in model development and experimentation.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with Agentic workflows and orchestration frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or AutoGen.
• Proven track record in LLM fine-tuning techniques (SFT, RLHF/DPO).
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and experience with Cloud environments (GCP/AWS) and MLOps tools.
• Strong background in search machine learning algorithms such as query understanding and personalization.
• Must be able to work from the Berlin office 2 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with search results evaluation and foundational knowledge of the search funnel.
• Previous experience working in global, cross-functional teams.
