What you will do

• Architect and lead the development of fault-tolerant card payment processing systems.
• Manage the full transaction lifecycle including authorization, clearing, settlement, and fund movements.
• Design and maintain automated reconciliation frameworks to ensure ledger consistency and accuracy.
• Build reporting and threshold-based alerting systems for monitoring financial performance and risk.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Finance, and Risk teams to define operational playbooks.
• Mentor a team of payment engineers and establish technical standards for reliability and observability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years specifically in payment processing systems.
• Deep understanding of four-party and three-party payment models, interchange structures, and chargeback lifecycles.
• Proven ability to design high-availability, distributed systems at scale.
• Strong knowledge of PCI DSS compliance and financial security standards.
• Experience with automated reconciliation, payment ledgers, and financial reporting pipelines.
• Location: Must be based in Serbia.

Nice to have

• Experience working at a PSP, acquirer, issuer, or fintech platform.
• Familiarity with cross-border processing and authorization optimization.
• History of managing volumes exceeding 10M transactions per month.
• Exposure to financial audit processes and compliance reviews.
