TL;DR

Location: Must be based in Austin, TX; onsite role with no remote options available.

What you will do

  • Design, implement, and optimize motion planning algorithms using modern C++17/20.
  • Develop robust solutions for trajectory generation, pathfinding, and behavioral decision-making.
  • Analyze and debug system performance using simulation, logs, and vehicle testing data.
  • Collaborate with Perception, Prediction, and Control teams to build reliable self-driving systems.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and highly optimized production-quality code.
  • Profile algorithms to meet strict real-time performance constraints.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Exceptional proficiency in modern C++ and object-oriented design.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of algorithms and data structures relevant to robotics.
  • Experience with software development tools including Git and CI/CD.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Austin, TX.

Nice to have

  • Success in competitive programming contests (ICPC, Google Code Jam).
  • Professional or academic background in robotics motion planning.
  • Experience with multithreading, memory optimization, and GPU programming (CUDA/OpenCL).
  • Solid mathematical background in linear algebra and probability theory.
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques for planning or decision-making.
