Software Engineer (Cobol)

TL;DR

Software Engineer (Cobol): Designs, develops, tests, and implements operating systems components, software tools, and utilities with an accent on system improvements and efficiency. Focus on moderate to complex projects, ensuring successful implementation, and monitoring to increase efficiency.

Location: Taguig City, Philippines. Required to work in all shifts and RTO 10x a month.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, debug, and implement operating systems components, software tools, and utilities.
• Determine systems software design requirements.
• Ensure system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
• Generate systems software engineering policies, standards, and procedures.

Requirements

• Established and productive professional individual contributor, working independently with general supervision.
• Experience working on moderate to complex projects, using company standard policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
• Proficiency with various tools, systems, and procedures required to accomplish the job.
• A four-year college degree (or additional experience in a related field) and at least 3-5 years of experience in Software Development in Mainframe Technology.
• Experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS, CICS.
• Experience in all phases of application development from requirement analysis to Deployment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills - will be required to interact with business team and other interfacing application teams for the work assigned.

Nice to have

• Experience in production support.

• Must be willing to work all shifts, but shifting depends on business/team demands.
