Location: Based in San Francisco office and must be in-office more frequently than hirify.global's standard 25% hybrid baseline.

Salary: $320,000 - $405,000 USD

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end execution of Security Labs projects from hypothesis to results.
• Build novel security infrastructure under real-time pressure with a bias toward learning fast.
• Drive successful experiments toward production scale.
• Work with research teams to stress-test core workflows under extreme security controls.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging security technologies.
• Turn experimental results into decision-ready writeups to inform hirify.global's long-term security architecture.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software or security engineering experience with a solid foundation in production systems.
• Experience on pilots, prototypes, or applied research work.
• Strong programming skills in Python and at least one systems language (Go, Rust, or C/C++).
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Kubernetes, and networking fundamentals.
• Ability to execute cross-functionally with ML researchers, infrastructure engineers, and vendors.
• Clear written communication skills.
• Comfort with ambiguity and iteration.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent industry experience required.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in offensive security, red teaming, or security research.
• Familiarity with airgapped or high-side environments.
• Knowledge of applied cryptography.
• Experience with ML infrastructure.
• Background building or operating security systems in environments that demand rapid iteration.
• Prior work at a startup, on an innovation team, or in an applied research group.
