What you will do
- Manage and mentor a team of software engineers focused on authentication and authorization services.
- Define and execute the identity and access strategy, balancing security, compliance, and developer experience.
- Oversee development methodologies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Partner with infrastructure and IT groups to design scalable, secure platform features.
- Drive internal adoption of security systems and champion engineering best practices.
- Ensure the security of customer PII and UGC through rigorous access controls and preventive measures.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of authentication and authorization technologies like SAML, OIDC, and OAuth.
- Experience building security strategies that balance usability, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams to design and build end-to-end platform solutions.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Golang, Python, or Java.
- Understanding of attribute-based access control systems like AuthZed, Oso, or Auth0.
- Must be located in Australia or New Zealand.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with policy-as-code methodologies like OPA and Rego policies.
- Experience with infrastructure tools such as Terraform, Helm, or Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of audit and compliance frameworks like ISO270001, SOC 2, or FedRAMP.
- Experience with emerging AI access patterns and corporate IGA systems like Okta.
