What you will do

• Write business news stories for the website, covering company activities, market movements, and economic announcements.
• Work alongside a senior business journalist in New York and liaise with colleagues in London and Washington DC.
• Come up with original ideas for stories and cultivate a wide array of sources.
• Write breaking news stories quickly and accurately under tight time pressure.
• Write live page posts and news features, finding original angles and going behind the big business headlines.

Requirements

• Experienced business journalist who knows how to read company results and understand financial markets.
• Excellent knowledge of business and economics with a global perspective.
• Experience of writing accurate, engaging, and fast-paced business news for digital audiences.
• Proven ability to cut through jargon and make complex stories appealing to a broad audience.
• Experience of writing in a variety of formats to tight deadlines.
• Ability to come up with angles and approaches to the big stories of the day.
