Entry-Level Consulting Engineer

TL;DR

Entry-Level Consulting Engineer: Supporting managers with day-to-day processes, repairs, and technical analysis of factory automation equipment with an accent on customer-facing troubleshooting and product inspection. Focus on reporting technical findings, managing repair costs, and driving operational efficiency in an onsite environment.

Location: Must be based in or able to work onsite in Itasca, IL

Compensation: $84,695 (Base $65,510 + $19,185 bonus target)

What you will do

• Assist managers with daily operational processes, equipment repairs, and technical analysis.
• Communicate complex technical information to sales teams and external customers.
• Inspect damaged products to determine failure root causes and calculate repair costs.
• Program and troubleshoot company equipment directly with clients.
• Report findings to upper management and National Product Directors.
• Lead small teams and provide feedback upon project completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred in a science or technical field).
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and diagrams.
• Proficiency in using standard hand tools and electronic testing devices.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift 30–70 lbs of equipment.
• Must be able to work onsite at the Itasca, IL facility.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with technical products.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
