Software Engineer (Data Science): Developing backend services and applications using Kotlin or Java with an accent on processing large data volumes and designing data pipelines. Focus on building scalable and reliable data infrastructure and supporting the development of AI/ML models.

Location: Must work from the European Union region. Openness to occasional on-site team meetings (up to once per quarter) in our Poznań or Warsaw office.

Salary: B2B: 16 700 - 21 700 PLN net + VAT. Salary: 12 500 - 16 000 gross

What you will do

• Develop backend services and applications using Kotlin or Java.
• Process large data volumes using Scala and BigQuery.
• Design and maintain data pipelines using Apache Airflow in the Cloud Composer (GCP) environment.
• Work with Google Cloud Platform services to build scalable and reliable data infrastructure.
• Prepare and transform datasets for machine learning processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven applications and AI-enabled solutions.

Requirements

• Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.
• 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering, preferably in backend or data-focused systems.
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin or Java for backend development.
• Good knowledge of SQL and experience working with large datasets.
• Experience building data pipelines or data processing workflows.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (preferably GCP).
• Very good command of English (spoken and written).

Nice to have

• Experience with Scala, Spark, or other big data processing tools.
• Experience with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with ML platforms such as Vertex AI.
• Experience with React or data visualization tools.
