TL;DR
Senior Data Engineer (Fintech): Developing and optimizing distributed Big Data processing pipelines and streaming applications for the Financial Crime Prevention unit. With an accent on Spark and Scala for near real-time data transformation and enrichment. Focus on building scalable data pipelines, enabling advanced analytics, and collaborating in a Continuous Delivery environment.
Location: Hybrid from Gdynia, Gdańsk, or Warszawa with 3 days per week onsite
Salary: 125 - 155 PLN/h on B2B contract

What you will do
- Build distributed, highly parallelized Big Data processing pipelines handling massive structured and unstructured data in near real-time
- Leverage Spark and Scala to enrich and transform corporate data for search, visualization, and advanced analytics
- Collaborate closely with DevOps, QA, and Product Management teams in a Continuous Delivery environment
- Implement streaming applications connecting multiple internal and external data sources
- Support data requirements for Financial Crime Prevention products
Requirements
- Location: Hybrid work from Gdynia, Gdańsk, or Warszawa with office presence 3 days per week
- English: Daily use in an international environment, minimum B2 level recommended
- Minimum 5 years experience with Scala and Spark
- Strong knowledge of Big Data ecosystem including Hadoop stack (YARN, EMR, Sqoop, Hive)
- Basic experience with Kafka and Impala
- Familiarity with Jenkins, JIRA, Bitbucket, and Git
Nice to have
- Strong knowledge of unit testing and code versioning strategies
- Experience with Agile/SAFe frameworks
- Experience with Snowflake in AWS environment
- Knowledge of data security implementations such as encryption and anonymization
- Prior financial services experience
